For 10-plus years, Guy Blakeslee has been leading various incarnations of The Entrance Band (and before that, a solo project called Entrance), taking his masterfully crafted psych-rock jams to audiences on stages alongside acts like Sonic Youth, Stephen Malkmus and Will Oldham. Now, Blakeslee—who also co-founded Baltimore band The Convocation Of…—is striking back out on his own, with a new solo album called Ophelia Slowly.
Before his recent show at DC9, Blakeslee stopped by the Wilderness Bureau to play a couple of songs for us. Check out his performances of “Told Myself” and “Haunted City” off of his new album.
