The arid landscape of southern California is a long way from from Texas, but nonetheless felt like an appropriate setting to experience the voice and songs of Austin native Jess Williamson.
Her debut album, Native State, comes as a result of her return back to her hometown, following a stint in New York studying photography. The deeply personal songs on the record were inspired by a period of introspection and self-reflection.
While she was on a tour stop in Southern California, Bandwidth was lucky enough to witness her resonant dark folk as she performed a couple of songs for us on a dusty hilltop in Los Angeles.
