D.C. power-rock trio Ex Hex has two special deliveries for us today: the official release of its debut 7-inch and a fantastic music video for the band’s first single, “Hot and Cold.”
The video is directed by Lara Gallagher, who also helmed the Mikal Cronin video that starred Ex Hex’s Mary Timony as a bored maid. The “Hot and Cold” vid shows an equally bored Timony, who’s so dragged down by her dining partner—Chain & the Gang’s Ian Svenonius—that she dreams up a debauched food fight with her bandmates, Laura Harris and Betsy Wright. Citrus is launched; Ranch dressing is splooged. Svenonius, perhaps for the first time ever, is a snooze.
Watch the video right here, and buy that 7-inch over at Merge Records.
