Listen To ‘Real,’ A Funky New Song From Rising Vocalist Kali Uchis

Northern Virginia-based artist Kali Uchis dropped a new song on her Soundcloud page today: Called “Real,” the sensuous, vibraphone-sprinkled track appears on Kitty Cash’s Love the Free II mixtape—and over the silky, funk-driven production (courtesy of Bunx), Uchis sounds like an old pro compared to her scrappier Drunken Babble days.

Like her recent collaboration with Snoop Dogg, “Real” is another Uchis song on a non-Uchis project. (She also popped up on a Tyler the Creator song earlier this month.) The singer has yet to release Por Vida, her anticipated followup tape to Drunken Babble. In an April interview with Bandwidth, Uchis said she had no firm release date planned for the tape, but said to expect music “like the old stuff, but kind of turned up a couple levels.”

Uchis’ growing fanbase may just have to keep an eye on her (often hilarious) Twitter feed for the latest on Por Vida.
