There are countless frivolous lawsuits brought against songwriters that have no merit at all. But the songwriter, NOT some large company, must defend themselves at great expense even if the suit is unwarranted. There should be a copyright court that decides if a case has any merit BEFORE it goes to court. That kind of meaningful tort reform would help everyone… Except lawyers of course, who are against it.
