This time it was quiet… really… perhaps the article could have gone into the fact that the Zoning Commissioners are indeed the rubber-stamp champs afterall, and no one wants to bother to waste their precious time on the planet to see a bunch of sell-out chumps go through the motions. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fK8Osu53R9s

Ms. Frederic got it right, all we are asking for is the city to live up to the words found in the city’s own planning documents. Not some dog & pony show that leaves the artists to blow in the wind and try to figure out some bullshit pittance payout by the developer. The Zoning Commission asked about the color of the brick and the privileged staffers at the Office of “Planning” didn’t even mention in their reports the artists working in this building since at least 1981.

And, maybe all the other impacts on the surrounding communities don’t matter either. Who cares who pays for the infrastructure — the taxpayers got it. Who cares about noise, air, and water pollution — years of construction nuisance will displace the unneeded existing residents and longtime DC families. This is not reasonable municipal development and comes at the expense of these artists and surrounding neighborhoods.
