By: Altavoz Entmt http://bandwidth.wamu.org/can-small-record-shops-keep-up-with-record-store-day/#comment-36 Tue, 25 Mar 2014 17:33:00 +0000 http://bandwidth.wamu.org/?p=26531#comment-36 As a company that restarted in 2011with a 4 Volume Boxset released for RDS it’s been interesting to watch not only the Mom & Pop stores get back into the minds of consumers on this day(s) and it’s been the driver for the sale of Vinyl which is now estimated to be 3-4 % of total music sales; However, the bells and whistler being thrown in and the demand for pressing plant time is also part of the increased cost of doing business. I would also like to point out that that while this demand is surging we don’t have new plants and the ones in operation cannot get funds to expand operations so this is really a very complex problem and not with an easy solution.
