In June 2013, big-deal experimental-pop band Animal Collective played a sold-out, three-night run at D.C.’s 9:30 Club. If you’re a fan who missed the gig, chill: The group is about to release a live album taped during one of those shows.

Friday, the band originally from Baltimore, Maryland, drops Live at 9:30, recorded June 12, 2013. It arrives in advance of Animal Collective’s newest record, the followup to 2012’s Centipede Hz.

Live at 9:30 will be the second Animal Collective record to feature the name of a D.C.-area cultural landmark: In 2009, the group released Merriweather Post Pavilion, an album named after the Columbia, Maryland, concert venue booked by 9:30 Club operators I.M.P.

The live album is limited to 2,000 vinyl box sets. It’s available for pre-order now, to the tune of $40.
